"Security Concerns"
It was a pretty place in a good spot. I just wish they had locked, alarmed doors for better security in the memory care unit.

"**"Assisted Living Lacks Care Staff"**"
The place is only for people who need help, but they don't have any nurses on staff. If your family members have memory problems, I suggest looking elsewhere. I wouldn't tell others to choose this community.

"Caring Staff Amid COVID Challenges"
The staff did an amazing job caring for my mom during these tough times when everything was closed due to the virus. I just wish I could have seen her more.

"Headline"
This place is peaceful, with comfy rooms and good food. They organize outings, but more activities are needed for physical and memory care.

"Cozy Assisted Living: Good Food, Spacious Rooms, Peaceful Atmosphere"
The food here is yummy and the living room is big, clean, and pretty, especially during holidays. Bedrooms are roomy too. It's usually calm and peaceful.

"Limited Support and Room Cleanliness Issues"
The staff here is new, and there aren't many activities or therapies for memory care. The rooms could be cleaner, and they don't provide much assistance during family crises or when residents need extra care.

"Lacking Comfort and Activities: Assisted Living Falls Short"
The place is tidy and the food is alright, but it feels like no one really cares. They don’t plan any fun things for us to do, and all they do is keep the TV on too loud. It's like there's no joy here, no happiness at all.

"Great Friends and Food at Artisan/Lake Geneva"
I used to live at Artisan/Lake Geneva. I’m happy to be home now, but I will miss so many amazing friends, including the staff. I mostly stayed in Wicker. I will miss you the most. I love you all. And the food was great!

"Mom's new home is fantastic!"
My mom moved to this place recently, and I'm really happy with how the staff have made her feel comfortable, especially after her bad experience at another place. They have a special memory care unit where the staff spend a lot of time with the residents, and there are also fun activities like arts and crafts. I'm pleased with how things are going so far, and I'm grateful we found this community.

"Facilities too confining for active, less impaired seniors"
I toured this place in November, along with the Racine site. Both seemed designed for people with severe memory issues, which is more than what my mom requires or would be at ease with at this time. They were also quite small and felt restrictive. Perhaps this is because my mom remains pretty active.

"Satisfied with new assisted living, minor food adjustments noted."
So far, things are going well. The staff seems to be doing a good job. Since it's still new and I'm not there all the time, I can't be certain. We do hear occasional complaints about the food, but I think part of that is just adjusting and getting used to the new place.

"Lackluster memory support, negative ratings, low-capability seniors present."
Memory support here is subpar, bad ratings, and elderly people have low capabilities.

"Unqualified Staff and Poor Treatment at Assisted Living Facility"
I'd advise you to look elsewhere for assisted living. A doctor I know told me, 'You really don't want to spend your final days here. Find a better place.' My parents were residents at this facility for about three years. During this time, I constantly searched for a better home for them. We moved them here because it was the only place which could take both of them. The director is very unpredictable. It's difficult to guess how they'll behave. I must admit, though, I liked the activities director a lot. She's great and truly cares about the residents. She made a dedicated effort to keep everyone involved. Most of the caregivers seem to genuinely care about the residents. However, in the memory care unit where my parents were, a few of the staff members were rather rude, calling the residents stupid. They're just not well trained. Even when hospice nurses and a social worker offered to give some classes for dealing with dementia patients, it never happened. Sadly, despite continuous search, I couldn't find a more professional place that would treat my parents with love and respect they deserved. An incident that really shocked me was when a resident fell on the night of my dad's passing. One of the aids seemed to handle the situation very poorly, causing the resident further pain. When the EMTs arrived, the resident was carefully moved and later found to have a fractured hip. She can't return here now. After this incident, I sped up my search for a new place for my mom. Two months later, my mom is in a lovely facility. She participates in various activities and interacts with caregivers who speak to her kindly. She's clean, well-groomed and mostly, she's happy. This is the first time she's been this content since leaving her home. I strongly advise against this place.

"Avoid This Assisted Living Facility: Dismal Care and Untrained Staff"
Steer Clear of This Assisted Living Facility" As a doctor, I've heard that nobody would choose to end their life here, and I suggest you find a superior place. For about three years, my parents were lodged here. During that time, I constantly searched for a better place. When they were admitted, there weren't many options that could accommodate them in a shared space - so, it was a makeshift solution. The unpredictability of the director is unnerving. You can't tell what mood she'll be in. The only person I truly appreciated was the activities director. She was dedicated and cared for the elders immensely. She tried her level best to engage with the residents and their families. The majority of caregivers appeared to care for the residents, but a few were derogatory towards them - calling them dumb, something I found unacceptable. This behavior was prevalent in the memory care area where my parents resided. Notably, the staff wasn't well trained. My dad's hospice nurse and social worker offered to conduct a session to educate them about handling dementia patients effectively, but it never occurred. Regrettably, we couldn't identify a more professional place that treated everyone with the empathy and respect they deserved. But the real kicker – the night my dad passed away, another resident had a bad fall. I tried to comfort her and then went to get help. Unfortunately, the treatment the resident received from another aide was deeply shocking and displayed a lack of professional training – which I could discern even with my minimal first-aid knowledge from years back. This irresponsible care resulted in serious injuries for the resident and confirmed my decision to remove my mom from there as quickly as possible. After a two-month search, my mom is now in an excellent facility where she participates in various activities such as stretching, outdoor strolls, dancing - and most importantly, where she is spoken to with respect, not spoken at. She's always clean, her teeth are brushed and her hair is styled, all of which were neglected at the previous facility. Her mood has remarkably improved and she seems genuinely happy for the first time since leaving her own home. I strongly advise against choosing this facility for your loved ones.

"Toured facility on Friday. 40 private rooms."
I visited the facility on Friday. It has 40 private rooms where residents can bring their own furniture and artwork, but basic items are provided if needed. The decor is a bit old-fashioned, yet it's clean. There are four main common living rooms and two common dining areas. The staff has been there for a long time, and they offer personalized care, including hospice services. The facility is approximately 15 miles away, which takes about 23 minutes.
