"Disappointing Care: Staff Shortage and Unfulfilled Promises at Facility"
This place didn't have enough people working, and they didn't do a lot of the stuff they said they would, like making sure showers and cleaning happened, or helping with meals.

"“Brookdale Falls Short on Promised Care”"
We chose this place because they said they’d take good care of us, but they didn’t follow through. We’re super let down by Brookdale and wouldn’t tell anyone to go there, ever.

"Issues and Hope for Improvement"
When you're looking at places, don't just rely on the Medicare rating. Talk to other residents and families too. My mom stayed in this place, and we had a lot of issues. Her room wasn't clean, there was a broken window that they never fixed, and the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Because of them, my mom got hurt and had to stay in the hospital for 13 days. When she came back, she needed hospice care. Before this, she was supposed to be in assisted living. I picked this place because the person who showed us around was really nice and they had a room with a kitchenette, which was hard to find. They also said they could take care of my mom even with her special needs. But now, we're moving her out because of all the problems. The people in charge say they want to fix things, but I won't be there to see if they actually do.

"Check Medicaid, Not Medicare; Nice apartments, good facilities"
Ask about Medicaid qualifications. This place does NOT take Medicare. Make sure you know how they will care for your loved one and ask about hourly services. The apartments are nice, and the facilities are good. She never should have been accepted, but we had little time for the initial evaluation.

"Concerns Over Care and Cost at Assisted Living Facility"
Since October, my mother-in-law has been living in this facility, and I'm her main supporter. This place seems to charge for every little thing, and it's really hard to make sure that your family member is actually getting the services you're paying for, especially when they can't remember. They bring in doctors and other providers to get a fee from their visits to your family member whenever they can, and if you're not there to see it, there's no way to know if they really got the care. I'm really worried about the lack of fresh air and the lack of opportunities for overall health and mental healing here. A mind that isn't active isn't healthy, and the lack of attention to this for their residents isn't what we want for our family member. If this place doesn't improve its value compared to its cost, we'll be looking for a new facility soon. The staff is inconsistent; some are wonderful, but they often get overshadowed by the ones who seem to be just there for the paycheck.

"Best Facility We Saw, But No Medicaid Acceptance"
We visited this place and it was the best one we saw. The tour was good, and they gave us an information packet. However, Brookfield doesn’t accept Medicaid.

"Brookdale Falls Short as Assisted Living Facility"
I visited Brookdale Brookfield Assisted Living/Crossings, part of the larger Brookdale corporation. They offered a great meal plan and a chef. However, we opted for another community because Brookdale felt more like a nursing home than an assisted living facility.

"Hit or Miss: Mixed Experience in Assisted Living"
Some workers were great, others not so much. Hurt Mom's experience. They didn't stick to her meal and care plans. Might be good for some, but not for Mom. More for independent folks.

"Great Community with Helpful Staff and Lots of Activities"
My sister has only been at Brookdale for a short time, but things are going really well so far. The staff is very helpful, and the facility is clean. I appreciate their intermediate program for those who need help but aren't ready for memory care. The food is great, with a Mediterranean diet that my loved one enjoys. I also like that they have around 6 or 7 activities every day, even on weekends. It feels like a lively community, and we are very happy with it.

"Satisfied with Brookdale: Helpful staff, clean, good food, lively activities."
My sister just started at Brookdale, but it's been great. The people who work here are really nice and always ready to help. The place is always clean, which is important. They have this program that's kinda in between regular living and memory care, which is perfect for some folks. Oh, and the food? It's really good! They do this Mediterranean thing, which my sister loves. And there's always stuff happening, like activities every day, even on Saturdays and Sundays. It's a fun place to be, and we're happy with it so far.

"Caring Community for Loved Ones"
Brookdale Brookfield AL is great for our loved one. The staff is super friendly and easy to talk to about any worries we have. They always keep us updated by phone. There aren't many residents on the same floor, so the staff gives really good care. When we visit, the staff is always welcoming to our family. Everyone seems happy with the meals they provide. Our loved one really likes joining in on the activities. It's always clean and tidy here. They even have nice outdoor areas and patios. We're happy with how they keep our loved one safe. I'd tell others to check out this place.

"Tour Delight!"
I really enjoyed the tour of Brookdale Brookfield. If I ever need a place to live in the future, I'd love to stay here! The community is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and it feels like home. However, we ultimately chose a different community for our loved one based on her care needs.

"Outstanding Assisted Living Community Exceeds Expectations"
This place is really great! The staff are super nice and they do extra things to help out. They make sure my family member does lots of fun stuff every day. Whenever we need something or have questions, they're quick to help. The doctor who visits is really good, and the nurse is friendly too. The food is yummy and there are lots of choices. Everything is clean and looks nice, even the outside areas. They really take care of everyone and make sure they get what they need. I think this place is awesome and I would definitely tell others to check it out.

"Informative Tour, Smaller Bedroom"
I went on a tour at Brookdale and it was really good! The person showing us around, [Removed], was super helpful and taught us a lot of things about the place. Brookdale is a nice facility, but the one-bedroom apartment seemed smaller compared to what they have now.

"Expected Better Explanation of Services, But Stay Was Okay"
My husband stayed at this place for a little while. It was okay, but it seemed like they cared more about how much money we were spending than how he was doing. We were just trying to find a way to help him get better. At first, they were really helpful and told us everything we needed to know. But once we actually moved him in, the help stopped. I didn't really get how their short-term care services worked. They could have explained it way better. It felt like this was easier for them than for us.

"Helpful Management but Lacks in Quick Service and Good Food"
My family member needed more help than this place could give. Sometimes, the staff didn't reply quickly enough because there weren't enough caregivers around all the time. Even though the managers were friendly and always listening, it didn't make up for how late they were replying sometimes. And, we didn't think the food choices and how good it tasted was as great as they said it would be.

"Great community with caring staff and good activities"
I toured this place for my dad. I liked how clean it was and how friendly the staff were. They have a chef who cooks whatever the residents want for meals. There were lots of activities to choose from. We would have loved it, but it was too expensive for us. I highly recommend it.

"Brookdale Brookfield Assisted Living Review"
My dad just moved into Brookdale Brookfield recently, and things seem okay so far. He's still adjusting, but seems comfortable overall. He likes the food, and there are lots of activities for the residents, even though they're not really his thing. The staff are respectful and don't push him to join in. I hope it continues to work out for him.

""Upset over Low-Quality Care and Lack of Communication""
Totally upset. My grandmother's room typically stays filthy. She's usually stuck waiting a long time for aid. She had a recent fall and we, her family, were not informed. While personal care aides appear friendly, I can't endorse this place. The staff barely make an effort to include my grandma in events. She's often isolated in her room.

"Checked out Facility, Needed More Apartment-like Setting"
I checked out this place today before our chat. It's a nice building with plenty of shared spaces, their personal physical therapy team, and they manage medications. The staff and residents seemed really close, like a family. But it wasn't what I thought it would be. I was hoping it'd be more like an apartment to help mommy cope with daddy's situation.

"Great for Higher Care Needs"
Brookdale Place felt more like a nursing home. It was a nice facility because it's almost brand new, but it wasn't right for my father-in-law. It seemed more like a nursing home than an independent apartment. The studios were very small, probably to encourage people to use the activity rooms and other areas. If my father-in-law needed more care, it would have been a good place for him.
