"Unimpressed with Outdated Assisted Living Facility"

I visited this place and it didn’t wow me. It’s really old and not up to date.

"Happy father, supportive staff, and great care"

I'm sorry others had bad experiences, but my father has been happy here since 2017. The staff has given him more care as his needs have grown. The core staff has become like family to me, helping me handle my aging parent. This "home away from home" let me know my father better than if he stayed at home. He gets the care he needs, and I get the support I need to love him without worrying.

"Careless Treatment and Noise Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom nearly died here because they ignorantly gave her double doses of a powerful painkiller, and wouldn't even acknowledge their error. My sister realized this after it happened, but they refused to be held accountable. The mix-up could have cost my mom her life and led to a major uproar. We had to transfer her elsewhere pretty soon after moving her in. From the moment we stepped in, things were off. The room was nothing like what they'd shown us during the tour, and it was right next to a rowdy group that had their noisy wine parties daily. Their noise traveled right through the door and into our space. Even though we were just trying to move in, this noisy bunch had the audacity to complain about us talking. My mom was only here for a short term stay and she was fortunate enough to get out alive.

"Brookdale Memory Facility: Substandard Care and Poor Management"

Our time at the Middleton memory care center was pretty disappointing. My mom got hurt more than once and the boss didn't take action to stop it from happening again. The helpers did their best even though the people in charge weren't that great. The person in charge barely spends time with the people living there and often seems nervous around them. The medical help there isn't the best and the design of the place isn't ideal for memory care. There's too many corridors and places where people can get lost and roam without anyone watching. I'd suggest watching how things run every day before deciding to move someone you care about in there. Also, I'd look into legal issues involving Brookdale before making a final choice.

"Warm, Friendly Environment with Great Staff and Good Food"

We really like the warm and friendly atmosphere here. The apartments are a good size, with enough room for a sofa or love seat, making visits from family and friends comfortable. Although the building is older, it's kept in good shape. The sunroom and the enclosed central courtyard are especially nice. The staff has been here for a long time most of the administrators, med-techs, and aides have been around for three years or more. This means they really get to know your family member, including their problems, habits, and preferences. They’ve worked with me the resident's spouse to address any issues that come up. The food is better than average for a care facility. I eat with my husband often and really enjoy the meals. I feel at home here since I visit several times a week. If I could wish for one thing, it would be to have more aides per shift. But I know that’s pretty standard.

"Average Assisted Living Facility, Nothing Exceptional"

This place is smaller and only one story. The people who work here and the choices for care seem pretty good. But, I couldn't point out anything special. It felt kind of similar to other Brookdale places.

"Wonderful Staff!"

My loved one recently stayed at this community for a short respite. Overall, we were very pleased with how things went for her. The staff were wonderful people, and I felt comfortable with the care they provided. She had no complaints about the meals and enjoyed participating in activities with other residents. However, the staff couldn't handle her desire to take walks by herself throughout the day.

"Avoid Brookdale - Their Neglect is Frightening"

My buddy stays at Brookdale Middleton and can't stand it. She feels like they just don't notice her. She's been stuck alone in the bathroom for ages sometimes. And when she needs help and pulls the cord? She's left waiting for a really long time. There's only a couple of people that work there who are nice, the rest look really sad and miserable. The food isn't great either, and no one really chats during meals. Her room is really dark because the lighting is really bad. Someone else mentioned animals here, but all we've seen a couple of chipmunks. My friend has tripped and fallen a few times. The worst thing is, some of the workers are rough with her when they help her out of bed and they forget to give her her painkillers. She's scared to say anything because she thinks they might treat her even worse. I would never want a family member at Brookdale Middleton. She's been waiting to get into a different place for three months since her first week here.

"Seek Better Alternatives"

Don't send your loved ones here. Their food selection sucks big time. Sure, the place is tidy, but they never have enough staff. We think you should make other arrangements for your family member’s care.

"Great Tour of Assisted Living Facility, Especially Memory Care"

I had a really nice tour of this place. I liked their memory care part a lot. Everything looked really good, the place was nice. The workers were nice and they answered my questions. The tour went well, and it was enjoyable.

"Brookdale Staff: Amazing and Caring!"

The staff at Brookdale is amazing! They’re super friendly, supportive, and caring. It’s a smaller community, great for introverts who prefer fewer connections with other residents. My father has been there for a few weeks and is doing well. He’s even surprised by how much he likes it.

"Thumbs up for Brookdale"

The staff at Brookdale is what makes it stand out, in my opinion. They’re super friendly, supportive, and caring. It’s a smaller community, which is great for introverts who prefer not to connect with many other residents. My father has been there for just a few weeks, but he’s doing well and even surprised by how much he likes it.

"Mixed Feelings: Nice Staff but Food and Care Concerns"

My mom liked the friendly staff, but food disappointed her. She expected a nurse around sometimes, but some days there was no nurse at all. They served foods she didn't like despite listing them. She had to ask for something else to eat. It's quiet with not many activities.

"Disappointed and Worried: Not the place for Mom"

Leaving this place, I was totally bummed out. The people working there didn't seem nice at all. What really worried me was that if my mom moved here and her health got worse, she'd have to move again to a different place. Overall, I just didn't like it here and felt pretty let down after my visit.

"Welcoming Assisted Living Community"

I think they're really welcoming and create a cozy, home-like atmosphere. You feel like you belong there. The food is excellent, and parking is never an issue. I recommend this community.

"Would Like to Move"

During my visit to Sterling House of Middelton, I found it to be the ideal place for my mother. It's family-oriented, clean, friendly, and has all the amenities I was looking for. The best part? It's small and has a cozy, homey feel.

"Kind Staff, But Facility Feels Like an Office"

The workers were kind but the place felt like an upgraded office, not a home.

"Assisted Living: Updated Rooms, Resident Alertness Concerns"

I went there and saw 3 available rooms. The place has been updated since I last visited many years ago. But I'm worried about how alert the other residents are.

"Cozy living with nature's charm; small but vibrant atmosphere!"

The place is really cool! It's small and has lots of animals to watch. There's a patio outside by the conservatory.
