"Billing issues, management problems, caution choosing this facility."

Eden Vista overbills, fails refunds, poor management, beware assisted living.

"Affordable but mediocre assisted living facility, limited options."

We chose this place because it was the only one we could afford. It's just okay.

"Mixed feelings about Eden Vista for those needing care."

I believe Eden Vista could work well for certain folks. However, they evaluated my loved one, promised to look after him, but lacked enough staff. I wouldn't suggest it for those with serious illnesses. Nevertheless, for individuals who are fairly self-reliant and don't require much assistance, it might be okay.

"Nice place but unprepared and short-staffed during scheduled tour"

I visited this community, and it looked pretty good. We had our tour on a weekend, but the Director wasn't there. The person who showed us around didn't know much and seemed a bit unprepared. She didn't have any price sheets or information for us. Since we had scheduled the tour, I expected better preparation. They also seemed to be short on staff.

"Disappointed with Eden Vista: Lack of Refund and Communication"

My mom used to stay at the place before Eden Vista took over. She left in October, but we haven’t got back the money for the days she wasn’t there. They even tried to charge us for November when she already left! I’ve been trying to reach out to them through calls, emails, and texts, but no one seems to care or respond. It’s really frustrating. I’m going to report this to BBB soon.

"Missed Appointment Ruined Tour"

I had an appointment to see this place, but when I got there, nobody was around to show me around. It made me feel like they didn't care about my visit.

"Great care, but facility could use some updates"

The staff are very caring and work great with our family. Our loved one has had many issues, and they've always kept in touch with us. They do a good job making sure she gets what she needs and handling her when she's a bit difficult. The place itself looks a bit worn out and could use some updates. However, it's clean, and everyone is well taken care of. For me, the care and services are more important than the building. They really focus on the people, which is what matters most.

"Good care, met expectations for assisted living."

The care and overall experience have been good. It's about what I expected for assisted living.

"Great for Active Residents, Not for Those Needing More Help"

This place is great for someone who can still move around a lot and likes to join in activities. Sadly, my loved one needed more help than what they could offer here.

"Friendly manager, but facility needs better maintenance"

The manager was really nice and friendly to us and the people living there during our tour. However, the facility wasn’t kept up well, which is why my loved one didn’t want to move in.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"

Our family visited this assisted living facility in person. The staff were friendly, and we appreciated the spacious rooms compared to another community we saw. However, we didn't feel it was the right fit due to the layout—two floors that seemed dark and unwelcoming.

"Mixed Messages in Assisted Living"

It's affordable, but you get what you pay for. The room size is okay, and the food quality is just okay. The staff isn't consistent in their communication. The parent company is improving, but the community still struggles with Covid-19 updates.

"Wonderful Assisted Living Facility in a Gorgeous Setting"

This place is super nice in a really pretty location. The person showing us around was really nice, friendly, and got us. The place was really clean and didn't smell bad at all. The decorations are really pretty and there are lots of cool places to hang out and stuff to do together.

"Great tour, friendly staff, and cozy, well-kept facility"

We really enjoyed our tour and meeting the staff. Even though the community is in an older building, it looked really well-kept. The smaller size made it feel cozy and homey.

"A Helpful Tour Experience"

I checked out this place for my Aunt. I didn't choose it mainly because of where it is. The person who helps with marketing was super nice and told us a lot. They answered all our questions well. The place is really quiet and tidy. I think other families might like it.

"Great Apartments, Quiet Community"

We visited Brookdale and really enjoyed it. They was super nice. The apartments she showed us were spacious, which we appreciated. But, it seemed a little too quiet for my family member.

"Great staff, clean and spacious; worth a tour!"

We were very impressed with our first tour. We even went for a second one. The staff did an excellent job, taking their time to show us around and answer all our questions. The community is clean, spacious, and the rooms are a good size. I definitely recommend scheduling a tour here.

"Friendly staff and great facility with happy residents."

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and gave us a lot of useful information. They helped us understand everything and were very patient. The facility is really nice, and the residents we met seemed very happy. The menu offers a good variety of food, and breakfast smelled great when we toured.

"Great staff and clean, but not the right care type"

We visited this place for my mom's care. The staff was friendly, and the community was clean. However, this isn't the right type of care we need. The residents here are a bit older, but the menu looks great with lots of good options. We suggest other families check out this community for their loved ones' care.

We had an awesome tour of this place.

"Happy with Mom's New Home"

We are very happy with my mom's move to this place. Everything is going great. I feel really good about her being here. She is safe and well taken care of. The staff is very nice, and everyone we've met has been wonderful. They serve good meals and have fun activities for the residents. The community and her room are always clean when I visit. We are very happy with everything they've done for us, and I would recommend this place.

"Less-Than-Ideal Stay with Some Good Points"

My mom is managing the switch alright, but she's upset about her wrong diet for a week. The activities she enjoyed aren't happening either. The place doesn't give off a warm, friendly vibe because residents don't really gather for these activities. Also, my sister isn't pleased that they're not keeping mom's room clean like they promised initially. They did make sure mom got her physical therapy, which has been good so far. The therapy and nursing care she's receiving is okay, but the management and the folks working the second shift aren't top-notch.

"Big Staff Changes and Communication Issues!"

This place has recently had a big switch-up in workers. Pretty much all of the bosses are new. We've heard some gripes about the night crew not being as friendly as the daytime one. We had to ring them up to clean some stuff in the apartment. The food's still good, though. We never heard back from the person we asked to chat with. We're hoping these changes are just for now, because the communication with the staff and families is lacking.

"Great Place, But Be Clear on Prices"

My mother-in-law was super excited to move in here. She made friends and they ate breakfast together. She said she felt comfortable here. The staff was great and very helpful. The only thing that bothered me was they weren’t upfront about the prices.

"Good Care"

The community is really nice. The staff takes good care of everyone. Although the carpet needs replacing, overall it's clean. The activities are fantastic. I'd recommend this community to other families.

"Worth Checking Out!"

This place is nice, and the staff I met during the tour were friendly. The community seemed clean, and they offer lots of activities. It's just a bit far for us.

"Great Care and Clean Facility Just Needs Meal Variety"

I believe my aunt is getting excellent care at Brookdale Madison North. I would definitely suggest it to friends and family. The facility is always clean and well-maintained. I also feel confident that my aunt is safe and well-looked after by the staff. The meals are decent, though my aunt thinks she gets too many sandwiches. A greater variety of meal choices would be appreciated.

"Warm and Welcoming Community with Room for Activity Improvement"

I really like Emeritus at Legacy Gardens. Everyone is super nice and always ready to lend a hand. It's a cool place, but I wish they had more stuff to do. Overall, though, it's pretty good.

"Perfect Care and Comfort for Mom at Legacy Gardens"

We knew we needed to find something for our mom because she was forgetting things like her medications and meals. My sister called A Place for Mom, and of course, she handed me the phone. I spoke with a kind and caring woman who helped us with some tough decisions. She gave me a list of places nearby, and we started visiting them. We narrowed it down to three, and I took my mom to check them out. At the first place, she seemed okay but said she didn’t want to live there. At the second place, Legacy Gardens, everyone remembered me from before. They were great with my mom, and she loved all the attention. We toured the facility and found an apartment that seemed perfect for her. She was excited because it was near her church, which felt familiar to her. We visited a few more times, and each time she would hug the staff when she arrived. We knew this was the right place for her. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but we feel good knowing she’s being well taken care of. She gets three meals a day, laundry service, a clean apartment every week, exercise classes, and fun activities like cards and puzzles. They also help with shopping and appointments if family can’t be there. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is good (I even had lunch with her once). Now, we just need someone to help when she accidentally pushes the wrong buttons on the TV remote! It’s a bit of a laugh, but we’re really happy with our choice and believe she’s enjoying her new home.

"Review of Legacy Assisted Living"

When choosing a place for my dad, I checked out 16 places and picked three for him to visit. He chose Legacy. When I asked why, he said it had the best room and the nicest, most caring staff. It was an easy choice. For me, I see a team that treats my dad like family and treats me as a customer. They are professional, friendly, and honest. I couldn’t be happier knowing my dad is well taken care of.

"Review of Harmony Gardens Assisted Living"

The staff is always polite, happy, and friendly to the residents, whether it's day or night. We do worry about the frequent changes in senior administrative staff, but thankfully, it hasn't impacted the quality of care.

"Amazing Care and Spacious Rooms at Legacy Gardens"

Everything I have to say is 100% positive. They are a five-star and then some. My dad picked this place because the suite is the largest, and the way the room is set up in quarters gives plenty of space. It was the best space with a competitive price. I’ve had lunch with him there, and the salads are fresh and crisp. The hot food is served hot, and the cold food is cold. The people serving are the cheeriest you have ever seen. There was one little incident where we needed nurse coverage, and they dropped the ball between the site and the district. It was the district’s fault, not the community’s. Emeritus at Legacy Gardens are great people. Every time he goes to the hospital, the director visits him like he is family. They have a motto about creating another family for the residents, and they really do. When he came home from the hospital, they were there to greet him. They balance being tough and doing the right thing with being loving and caring. I think they are a best-kept secret. It’s a little off the beaten path, but if your loved ones can manage the metro bus system, they can go anywhere metro services for three dollars and change, and have someone ride with them for free. Legacy will even load him on the bus, but they aren’t staffed to ride with him.

"Not Enough Staff, Could Use More Attention"

My family member used to stay here until we decided to move her. It always appeared to me that they didn't have enough staff. It wasn't a bad home, but I wasn't satisfied with the amount of care she was getting. When we would go to see her, it often seemed like she had just been left in front of a TV or a window for a long time.

"Amazing Place, Nothing More to Add"

This place is amazing. I don’t have anything else to add.

"Good and Bad Things Noted While Checking Out Assisted Living Facility"

I visited the facility and then returned the following day with my mom to check out a one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor that was open. The person in charge was actively interacting with the people living there and the staff. The apartment itself had a weird wall that separated the living room from the bedroom, but it did have pretty nice windows with a view of the trees outside. My main worry is about the cleanliness of the place. During my first visit, I passed by an open apartment door and it really smelled like pee. I also got a slight whiff of it upstairs. When I made a second visit to see the one-bedroom, the bathroom wasn't the cleanest and there seemed to be dirt or possibly mold between the toilet and the bathtub. I do like that it's a short walk from my home, but I'm still thinking things through.
