"Spacious Rooms and Responsive Staff, but Communication Needs Improvement"

We really like Heritage Lake Country because our loved one's room is very spacious and comfortable. The staff usually responds quickly when we reach out. However, it can be hard to get in touch with different departments by phone. Also, the communication between families could be improved.

"Safe and helpful, no improvements needed"

The community made my loved one feel safe, which was most important to us. The staff has been helpful. We think everything is going well and don’t see any need for improvements right now.

"Community Too Far for Family Visits"

Nice community, but too distant for family visits.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"

The community seemed nice, but it didn't feel right for my loved one.

"Nice rooms, but not a friendly vibe"

It felt more like a big hotel and not very friendly. The best room had a separate bedroom, a big living room, and a kitchen space, but it was on the 2nd floor without views of green space. I didn’t like the hallway and elevator right outside the room.

"Unhappy with Assisted Living Facility’s Service and Care"

We’ve had a really bad time here. The big problem is that they didn’t figure out what my family member needed. They said no to using the long-term insurance and didn’t accept any claims because they placed her in a part of the community for people who can live on their own. My family member stayed in their room all the time. It seemed like the staff got bothered whenever she used the call button to ask for help. People who work here keep leaving. The place is pretty new for everyone.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The community was pretty new. The things we were told would happen didn't actually happen as we expected. The staff changed a lot while my loved one was there. Whenever we talked to the administration team about my loved one's care, it felt like they were saying two different things. Unfortunately, the head nurse didn't provide any help during my loved one's stay.

"Heritage Lake Country Needs Improvement"

When considering Heritage Lake Country, I suggest holding off. The staff changes frequently, even the boss. We had two new bosses in a year. Some caregivers were great, others not so much. We faced issues with paperwork, which got misplaced for weeks. They often ran out of basic meds, leaving my mom without for days. We hope the new boss can fix things, but we're not sticking around to see.

"Comfortable but Untrustworthy Staff"

This place is okay. My mom feels comfy there. But, like everywhere, it has its ups and downs. Some staff members aren't totally reliable. The food could be better they serve the same dishes a lot. The layout is good though.

"Improvements Noticed with New Director at This Beautiful Facility"

My mom has been living here for a while. At first, there were a lot of staff changes and some issues, but things have improved since the new Executive Director came in. The place is really nice. We think some of the early problems were because the facility was new, so we decided to stay. Now, we're pretty happy with it.

" Unresponsive Management, Indifferent Staff, Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"

Avoid this place, don't let your family members stay here!! My father was only here for a couple of months. They don't have enough workers, the ones they have are indifferent, their management doesn't even answer emails, they fail to deliver on the care they promise. Even though it's a neat place, the care is terrible!!

"Mixed Experience at New Assisted Living Facility"

The place looks nice because it's new. Food is okay. I understand it's hard to make perfect meals for everyone's needs. But I'm not happy with how little the staff knows about taking care of people in the assisted living part. My friend has been there for nine months, and almost everyone who worked there when they moved in has left. I guess that happens a lot in these jobs. My friend just moved to the memory care unit, so maybe things will be better there.

"Unpleasant Smells and Unprepared Tour Guide at Senior Home"

The model room we were shown had a really bad smell like a sewer; it turns out there was a dry trap/drain. We found it odd that the tour guide mentioned the dining room sometimes had the same stench. We solved the problem ourselves by running water down all the sinks and shower in the room. A good maintenance team should've noticed and fixed this. This put us off from the start. Plus, the tour guide appeared nervous and didn't seem ready.

"Consistent Staff Shortage Affects Quality of Care"

This facility seems to be struggling with establishing a reliable staff team since it's relatively new. For people like my grandparents who are dealing with memory problems, this situation can be especially challenging. The management is always present, but the regular care team keeps changing about every week. The constant shift exchange makes it tough for new members to figure out their residents' routines and unique medical needs, particularly when those residents' memory isn't as sharp as it once was. The building looked neat, but my grandmother experienced personal cleanliness issues. Essentially, they didn't handle her laundry or remove her trash as frequently as required. Dirty laundry would pile up in her room for a couple of days before my mom had to take it home to clean because the staff wasn't staying on top of it. We reported the incident, but the frequent staff changes meant the problem was never properly addressed. There's a dining hall where the residents can eat. The staff members would let everyone know it's mealtime by knocking on their doors. But due to my grandparents' condition, they can't move much without experiencing pain. They only got served their meals after everyone else had eaten, and by then the food was cold. I might suggest this place to others, but it would depend on how much assistance you need. Memory issues patients might want to avoid it.

"Mom Finds Independence"

We picked this community for my mom so she can be as independent as possible. When she needs help, the staff is great. They offer lots of activities she enjoys, like exercise classes, cooking classes, field trips, and movie nights. She eats well and balanced meals. Everything inside is nice and clean, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an active lifestyle.

"Wonderful place with great food and activities!"

I would give this community an A+! It’s beautiful and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful. My loved one lives in the independent apartments, which are very nice. They have a kitchenette to make their own meals, but they also eat one meal a day in the dining area. I’ve dined there with him, and the food is excellent with good choices and balanced meals. Residents can pay for extra meals if they want. There are many activities available, though he hasn’t tried them all yet. The community has a lovely courtyard, patios, and walking paths to enjoy the outdoors. Heritage Lake Country is truly wonderful.
