"Bathtub-Less Community with Care Challenges"
This community was nice, but no bathtubs were available. My loved one wanted one, and residents might need to switch apartments for ongoing care.

"Great food and good winter snow removal service"
The food here is really good. In winter, I asked for the snow to be cleared from my car and the path to it. They’ve been doing that for me so far.

"Mixed feelings: Hickory Park Assisted Living"
Hickory Park is a nice place with friendly staff. It's clean, bright, and smells good. It's great for elderly folks who need just a little help. The staff is kind and tries hard to help. They really care! It feels mostly independent, with good rooms and things to do. But, there were some problems with Mom's medicine. They didn't give her meds when she first came, and later, they didn't refill an important one on time. Mom ended up in the hospital for two weeks because of it. They didn't tell us what was happening, and Mom kind of got forgotten. Some of the health aides are really good, but some need more training. The food isn't great. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's maybe a 2. Sometimes it's not even warm anymore. Nobody's perfect, but Hickory Park tries hard. They care about their residents. But, if you're very old and need a lot of help, this might not be the best place for you.

This place is amazing! It's so welcoming and friendly. We have a blast playing cards and Bingo. It's such a fun place to be! I absolutely love it here!

"Mom liked the smaller community but worried about unit size"
Mom enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this smaller community. She felt less overwhelmed compared to larger places. However, she worried about the small unit sizes and wasn't sure if she could adjust.

"Cozy, welcoming place with great care and fun activities"
My aunt lives here right now, and everything is going great. She’s happy with the way she’s treated. The staff is really good, and we haven’t had any problems. She enjoys the food and there are lots of choices. They have activities like bingo, games, and movie nights, and they even show Packers games! During the holidays, they had many parties and they usually have events for each season. The building is really nice and looks more like a five-star hotel than a retirement center. It’s very welcoming and cozy. They provide the specific care she needs while making it feel like home. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Great for Those Who Don't Cook, Not for Cooking Enthusiasts"
This place offers meals in its cost but doesn't have a stove. This won't work for my mom who enjoys cooking. For those who don't want to cook, this could be the ideal option.

"Roomy apartments, close-knit community"
We picked this place for my mom because it's close to my house, but mostly because she liked that it wasn't too big. The apartments are roomy, but everything is close enough so she doesn't have to walk far. She loves that she can keep all her own stuff. She hasn't been here long, but I'm happy with the staff, and she really loves the food. It's one of the most important things for her. They have a good menu with lots of choices. The place is very clean, and they do laundry once a week. I'm not sure how often they take out the trash, but the cans are always empty when I visit. They have lots of activities; when we first moved her in, they were having an Oktoberfest with a big buffet and music. I would definitely recommend this place. My husband even asks when he can move in!

"Excellent Care, Friendly Staff"
Hickory Park is a fantastic place. From our first visit to my dad's passing, the staff treated us with respect, care, and attention. My dad appreciated that they talked to him directly and respected his choices. The place is clean and well-kept, and my dad loved being able to control his room temperature since he often felt cold. The rooms are big, open, and bright. He was always excited about the food and the many choices at meals, and he loved having guests to share it with. There are lots of activities to bring residents together, and everyone is very friendly. I also liked that there was a nurse available at night, so I felt safe knowing help was nearby. Hickory Park was wonderful to us, and I highly recommend it.

"Great place, a bit far and pricey, nice gift."
Very nice place. It's a bit far and expensive, but I would recommend it to others. [Name] was great to talk to. The gift package at the end of the tour was a nice touch.

"Feels like home with friendly staff and lots of activities"
When I first walked into Hickory Park, I thought, "Wow, it’s like a hotel!" I've been living here for almost 2 years, and it feels just like home. I love how safe it is with caregivers around 24/7. There are many activities to enjoy, and everyone is very friendly!

"Disappointed with Hickory Park Visit"
My visit to Hickory Park was pretty disappointing. I got there and nobody was at the front desk to greet me. After waiting, the lady showed up and told me she was busy with bingo because they don’t have enough workers. That’s why I decided it wasn’t the right place for me.

"Nearly a Nursing Home: Hickory Park Assisted Living"
When we visited Hickory Park, our visit coincided with dinner. We were surprised by the sheer number of wheelchairs at the tables, with more coming in. It seemed more like a nursing home than an assisted living facility.

"Facility requires cleaning and carpet repair"
My family checked it out. Wasn't really impressed - the place could seriously do with a deep clean both in and out. And the carpet? It's not just dirty, it's totally ripped.

"Need for Improvement at Assisted Living Facility"
Our mom or dad stays in this assisted living place. Over the past 12 months, we've noticed several changes, and not all are good. There doesn't seem to be enough staff around, and the quality of food served has dropped a bit. Something has to change soon, perhaps they need to hire new leaders to run the place better.

"Satisfied with Services"
The services are really good overall, except for the dining room service. The food is tasty, but the service there could use a little improvement—maybe the staff needs better training. Despite this small issue, I'm quite satisfied.

"Consider Top Floor Units for Less Noise"
I signed up for a full year here, but I won't be staying longer. The sound from the units on the second and third levels is just too much. Doesn't seem like they're trying very hard to reduce the noise.

"Reasonable Price"
We only use housekeeping services at this assisted living facility. Residents have buttons to request help, but the response time is slow. Waiting for assistance can be frustrating. The social activities, like BINGO, seem a bit mindless. However, they do offer trips to Wal-Mart and other community destinations. The price is reasonable for the care level we need.

"My Visit"
I went to the Hickory Park community, and it was really nice for what I wanted in a place to live. Everything, from the staff to the care, made me feel comfortable. The only problem was the price—I thought it was too expensive.

"Spacious One-Bedroom Apartments in New Building!"
Wow, the new big building has roomy one-bedroom apartments! But remember, you'll need to bring your own furniture and appliances. With 56 units, it's got a nice dining room and lots of cool amenities. The price seems fair for what they offer, and the staff even said they'll take care of you till the end of life.

"Quality Assisted Living Facility with Concerns About Mental Health Care"
I visited this place and was really impressed. It's a new facility and the resident apartments reminded me a lot of Clement Manor. The meals they serve are like what you'd get in a restaurant. They also have physical therapy available right there. And there are nurses on-site, too. But I'm not sure if it's the right fit for my dad, who struggles with depression and mental illness. They have room for 56 people, but it seems they don't take residents who need public funding or those with mental health issues like depression. You have to pay privately for two years before they consider taking public funding.

"Delicious food, identical apartments, plus utilities included, except phone/cable."
This place has amazing food cooked by a great chef! You get two meals every day, which is awesome. The apartments are all pretty much the same, whether you need some help or not. If you're living alone or with a friend, the one and two-bedroom places have their own bedrooms and bathrooms. Plus, there's a small kitchen with a little fridge and microwave. They take care of all the basic bills like water and electricity, but you'll have to pay for your phone and cable separately.

"Decent Care Facility with Few Males, Allows Pets"
It's a decent place, you know. They do their best to take care of everyone, no matter how much help they need. But when I was there, I noticed there weren't too many men. On a brighter note, they let residents have pets.
