Luther Manor: A Life Plan Community

"Room size disappoints for the price at Luther Manor."
My family and I checked out a few places before deciding on Luther Manor. While the staff seemed nice and the facilities were clean, we were a bit disappointed with the size of the room they offered. It was much smaller compared to what we saw at other places, yet the price was the same. We ended up feeling like we weren't getting as much value for our money.

"A Caring and Joyful Home for Mom"
Mom, who is 92, has been living at Luther Manor for 6 years and she loves it! When we were planning to move her out of her home, we looked at many places but kept coming back to Luther Manor. It had great value, affordable prices, well-kept grounds, updated apartments, fun activities, a good reputation, and a great location. Although it was emotional for her to leave her home, once she moved in, she said she “should have moved in sooner.” We agreed and wished she had! Mom stays busy all the time. She works at the Manor Mart, goes to movies, exercises, attends Bible study, and volunteers, even with the current COVID restrictions. She already knew some people at Luther Manor, but she’s also made many new friends. Everywhere you go, you see people smiling and saying hello. There’s a really positive vibe at Luther Manor that you can feel right away. This made us confident that Luther Manor was the right choice. We haven’t had any worries about safety. The staff is caring and the activities and services are great. We even celebrated Mom’s 90th birthday there with about 70 family members from all over the country. We used the Faith & Education (chapel) building, and everyone was impressed. Mom was proud to show off her new home. COVID has changed a lot about senior living, from dining to activities. Luther Manor has been extra careful in protecting its residents and has been great about keeping everyone connected. Their updates and communication are top-notch, and the administration is always responsive to any concerns. We highly recommend Luther Manor. It’s been a blessing for Mom these past years, and knowing she’s well cared for gives us peace of mind, which is priceless.

"Friendly staff and modern rooms, but outdated bathrooms noted"
I toured this facility and found the staff very friendly. The place looked clean and well-kept. The rooms in the newer section seemed nicer and more modern compared to Hart Park Square. However, I wasn't a fan of the bathroom with the cut-out tub in the "older" section. They offer a range of care options including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehab. They can also provide supportive care in your apartment before you need to move to assisted living. They have an endowment that guarantees whatever care you need for the rest of your life. They help with Medicare and use their foundation to cover any remaining costs. The facility is quite large with 300 apartments, 100 for assisted living, and 100 for skilled nursing. There are two cafeterias and a café.

"Outdated Facility with Ineffective Amenities"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my family member. It seemed really old to me, and I didn't understand why they gave each resident an air-conditioner. It's weird to think that someone who can't always remember to dress themselves could handle an air-conditioner.

"Old Facility, Odd Air-Conditioning Strategy"
I visited this facility when I was searching for a suitable place for my loved one. I thought the facility appeared quite old and outdated. I also thought it didn't make much sense to provide each resident with an air-conditioner. It just seemed unusual to me to expect someone who can't always remember to get dressed to be able to handle an air-conditioner's controls.

"Good staff and activities, but concerns with cleanliness"
We toured this community while searching for care. The staff was friendly, and they offer a wide variety of meals and activities. They also provide different levels of care, which is helpful. However, we noticed an odor in the community, and the showers didn’t seem safe. We recommend families tour the facility if they're looking for care for a loved one.

"Peace of mind, great care and community for my mom"
This move has been great for my mother. I feel so much better knowing she’s in good hands here. They welcomed her warmly, even pairing her with a buddy to show her around. Anytime she needs help, someone is always available. She stays busy with activities and even invites old friends to meet her new ones. It’s been a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this community.

"Nice Place, Not Right for Parents"
Overall, I had a pretty decent visit to this place. The folks there treated me and my family with kindness and respect. The place itself looked really clean and well cared for from what I could see. Although the visit was good, it just didn't feel like the right fit for my folks.

"Great for socializing, but not the right apartment style."
This place didn't have the kind of apartment we wanted. It's more like a small, open room. The staff want residents to go out and be social. The staff we met were nice and the place was clean. It's like a little town on its own, but I worried it might be too much for my loved one.

"Not Quite Right by Me!"
I found this community to be okay. I took a walk around and enjoyed it. However, it didn’t offer the level of care my mom needed. Plus, the location was too far. I wanted to keep my mom close.

"Wonderful Community with Caring Staff and Great Food"
My mother is doing great since moving into The Courtyards. We are very impressed with this community; it’s a wonderful place. The facility looks nice and smells great. The staff is helpful, kind, and attentive to everyone. The food is good, and my mother has even gained weight and started eating more. This is an excellent community that I highly recommend.
