Marla Vista Assisted Living on Military Street is a place I wouldn't recommend for employment or for placing your loved ones. The staff members are unprofessional and disinterested in properly caring for the residents. There is always a shortage of staff, causing neglect towards those residents who require more hands-on care. The management team is disrespectful and ineffective in problem-solving. The marketing team creates a false image during facility tours. The cleanliness of the facility, notably the memory care unit, is subpar. In my opinion, the place should be closed down. The food quality is poor and leads to sickness amongst residents and staff. Beware of this facility's false advertisements. My rating is 0 out of 10.

"Smaller, Intimate Marla Vista: Perfect for Mom's Comfort"
The facility is getting updated, which is ongoing. We liked the smaller size. We looked at a few other places and they were too big for Mom. Marla Vista feels cozy. Mom really liked it. Especially the staff. I would tell others to check it out.

"Friendly Staff, Dated Building"
This place is in an old part of town which wasn't great. The building looked old and wasn't taken care of. The person who talked to us about moving in was nice and told us some helpful stuff, which was the best thing about our visit.

I think the people at Marla Vista are really nice and helpful. They are patient and always try their best. When you press the call button, someone usually comes pretty quickly. The food is good most of the time, and you can have as much as you want. They have lots of things to do to keep you busy. The people who live here are nice and caring. Everyone, both staff and residents, accepts you just as you are, even if you have a disability. Overall, I would recommend Marla Vista to someone looking for an assisted living place.

The Marla Vista Assisted Living & Memory Care needs some changes. My mom thinks the activities are the same all the time and need more choices. The food is okay but not very tasty even though they have a new chef. The workers are nice and understanding.
