"Poor Facilities and Shared Bathrooms"
Wow, this place was a letdown. The whole community smelled bad, and some residents had to share a bathroom in the hallway.

"Rooms are small and carpets look worn and outdated"
I wasn't impressed with the room size; they were too small. Also, the carpets looked worn out and the place seemed like it needed some updates.

"Limited Options for Early Dementia Residents at Aria"
Our family member has early dementia but doesn't need full memory care. Aria at Mitchell Manor doesn't provide assisted living for this stage; they only offer memory care.

"Mixed Reviews: Great Value, Communication Needs Work"
We're not sure about the activities they offer right now, but the cost-to-value ratio is excellent. One area for improvement is communication, which is our main concern with Aria at Mitchell Manor.

"Not Recommended Assisted Living Facility"
I'm really glad we moved my mom out of Meadowmere/Aria. During COVID-19, they basically just kept her there without much care. The staff didn't show empathy, especially the nurses. When we paid full price, they treated us better. But after we ran out of money and switched to Medicaid, their attitude changed. Communication is terrible, and the nursing staff isn't prepared for complex needs. The place seems more interested in saving money than caring for residents. Definitely not recommended.

"Nice facility, but communication and Covid issues"
The senior living side looked great. The assisted living was nice, though it felt more like a hospital, which is probably how it’s meant to be. Providing feedback during Covid is tough. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it’s not their fault—just the times. The general staff is good, but we had trouble with communication. Getting information was hard because it was unclear who to contact.

"Assisted Living Facility: Proceed with Caution"
My dad's clothes vanished multiple times. New social worker every 6 months. Care was just okay. Watch out for sneaky papers; could be financially responsible. Unethical business.

"Stay Clear: Neglect Ends In Tragic Loss at This Facility"
My mom wasn't given proper care here. One day, she mysteriously ended up with a fractured wrist, a black eye, and bruises on the side of her head. The staff insisted that she did it all to herself, but I remind them that she couldn't even move around without a wheelchair. Shortly after, she fell into a coma and passed away. I urge you to stay away from this place!

"Nice place but food could use improvement"
The Mitchell Manor AL & Meadowmere West Allis is always clean. The staff is friendly and communicates well. I feel that my loved one is safe here. One thing I really hope can be improved is the food. My loved one doesn’t like the meals much; they don’t taste very good and could look nicer. Overall, I would recommend this place, but the food needs to be better.

"Home Away from Home!!"
The Mitchell Manor AL & Meadowmere West Allis stays really clean. The staff is nice and talks well. I think my family member is safe here. One thing I wish could be different is the food. My family member doesn't like it much. It doesn't taste good and should look nicer. But overall, I'd suggest this place, just the food needs fixing.

"Friendly staff, good activities, clean but narrow rooms, nice dining"
The staff here is super helpful, caring, and friendly. They work hard to raise money for Alzheimer's research, and they plan fun activities like concerts that the residents really enjoy. You can choose between mixed or memory care units, and they’re great at helping my father with walks and other needs. The rooms and hallways are a bit narrow but always clean and nice. The dining area and garden outside are pleasant too. She is very friendly and gives good information, and they offer special deals on room costs.

"Assisted Living Offers Informative, Friendly Care with Enjoyable Activities"
The staff was super helpful, caring, and friendly. They're also really into raising money for Alzheimer's research. The activities they plan seem well thought out, and the concerts are a hit with the residents. My dad can stay in either regular or memory care units, and they're quick to help him with walks and whatever else he needs. The rooms and hallways are a bit narrow, but they're always clean and nice. The dining area and garden outside are both really nice. Cristina was especially nice and helpful, and they often have deals on room prices.

"New facility with large spaces and a real chapel"
This place is different from the one in Oak Creek. I like how they give out the medications here. The common areas are bigger, but maybe too big. The chapel is an actual church, and they have a brand new rehab center. The location isn't the best, but for mom, it seems like a good option.

"Mitchell Manor Falls Short"
I have a friend at Mitchell Manor. The staff isn’t friendly, and they always blame being short-staffed. I’d never put a loved one here. Despite renovations, the same problems persist. Avoid this place. Check Medicare.gov for more info.

"Avoid Mitchell: Low Ratings, Unfriendly Staff"
My buddy stays at Mitchell Manor, but it's not great. The employees aren't nice and whenever there's a problem, they always say they don't have enough staff. I would never let someone I care about live there. I've been going there even before they remodeled it. Sure, it looks better, but the staff still acts sassy and complains about not having enough people. Please don't let your loved one live in this place. Take a look at their website and also at Medicare.gov. They have tons of info about different nursing homes you can consider. Mitchell Manor only scores a "2" which is lower than average.

"Mom loves Meadowmere West Allis; great staff and community!"
My mom didn’t want to leave her home and kept saying, 'I’m not moving into a nursing home.' This made us feel guilty. We were so worried about her living alone that we spent all our free time cleaning and cooking for her. After two falls and leaving the stove on, we convinced her to check out some places. Assisted living is not a nursing home; it's a community with your own apartment. We loved Meadowmere West Allis because it was beautiful and clean. The staff was super friendly, and we even had lunch there and found the food delicious. Mom was still reluctant to move, but the Executive Director had a great idea: a Respite Stay. While my family went on vacation, Mom stayed there for a short time. When we returned, she didn’t want to leave! She made many friends, joined activities, and had a social life again. Thank you to all the staff at Meadowmere. You’ve been amazing. We love you!

"Troubles with medical crew; rest is solid"
My mom and I appreciate that the workers here will help move stuff and give a hand. The place itself is really clean and has a ton of great things to do. Most times, my mom thinks their food is alright. However, I'm not too happy with their medical department. Whenever I call, I just get the answering machine. On the rare chance I talk to a real person, I share what I think they could do better, but nothing changes. I've voiced this problem to a lot of people there, but nothing's been done.

"Not Recommended"
I’m not very happy with this place. The paperwork stuff is a big problem. My mom got here in February for memory care. But today, they changed my dad’s move-in date without telling us when the new date is. I tried calling, but no one answers. It’s hard to reach them. They don’t have enough staff, and it takes days to hear back. The place is clean, but during a bad virus, they didn’t do extra cleaning. The day-to-day caregivers are okay, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

"Poor Communciation and Unclear Processes Spoil Experience"
I'm not too happy right now. The main problem has been all the red tape. My mom got moved to the memory care section of this place back in February. Just before today, my dad was supposed to move into a different part of the same place. But they called his current home, cancelled his moving day without giving a clear reason or a new date, they just mentioned maybe Friday. They didn't even bother to call or email me about this, and I can't seem to reach anyone when I call them. This happens all the time; it's super hard to get in touch with anyone there. They don't seem to have enough staff, and it can take days until someone gets back to you. The place is clean, which is good, but they didn't do anything extra when a really bad virus was going around. The regular caretakers are good, but I wouldn't tell anyone else to use this place.

"Mitchell Manor: Inadequate Care, Dangerous Conditions, Seek Alternative Facilities"
My dad stayed on the third floor at Mitchell Manor nursing home after moving from the Rehab to Home area on the first floor, which had great staff. After about three weeks, he had to use his cell phone to call 9-1-1 because he couldn't get help from the staff when he needed it. Even though they knew he had COPD, they often ignored his call light and complaints about his breathing. He ended up in the hospital with serious infections and sepsis. If you're thinking about this place for someone you care about, don't pick it. Look somewhere else! If you're looking for a nursing home in Wisconsin, go to and check the ratings first. We wish we had done that before my dad went to Mitchell Manor.

"Avoid Mitchell Manor: Subpar Care Leads to Emergency Hospitalization"
This review is about Mitchell Manor only. After my dad was moved from the excellent Rehab to Home unit on the first floor to the third floor, his experience drastically changed for the worse. After 3 weeks in the main Mitchell Manor area, he found himself calling 911 on his own cell phone because of neglectful practices. Despite having a long history of COPD, which the staff knew about, cries for help about his breathing problems often fell on deaf ears. Eventually, he went to a nearby hospital where he was immediately put into the ICU. Upon admission, my dad was diagnosed with an eye infection, pneumonia, sepsis and MRSA. If you're considering putting your loved one in this nursing home, please think twice. You really need to look elsewhere. I strongly urge anyone considering a nursing home in Wisconsin to consult the website. You can search by county or city to find trustworthy ratings for each facility. I wish we had done this before my dad ended up at Mitchell Manor.

"Great place, but lacked memory care for our needs."
We visited this place while looking around. We liked it a lot; it was clean and the staff was very friendly. However, they didn't have memory care, which we needed. It was a great place, and we might have chosen it if our needs were different.

"Early Impressions"
I'm new to this campus. I used to live east of here for over 30 years. The staff is friendly and helpful. I like that my apartment is close to the laundry. However, I'm disappointed that the storage area is far away. On the bright side, I appreciate the security measures. The activity director is much nicer than at my previous assisted living place, and privacy is better respected here. Overall, things seem to be going well.

"Meadowmere changes management, shadows communication with Families"
My Mom began living at Meadowmere in May. Our journey has had plenty of good and bad moments. The decision to have her stay there came after a tour of the facility. Our guide during the tour was quite informative and ready to assist. We saw a few apartments that met Mom's needs, including her financial situation. Sadly, not long after Mom settled in, the management of the facility had a shuffle. They replaced the Director and Sales Manager (who was our tour guide), with no warning given to either her or us. Suddenly, the people we knew and trusted at Meadowmere were gone. Till now, we haven't been informed of who their successors are. Also, services at Meadowmere have slowed down. Sometimes the staff says to Mom, "I will get to you when I can, we are short staffed." But on a positive note, Meadowmere maintains cleanliness and the staff is kind to Mom. However, they could do a better job of keeping families in the loop when big changes happen, like providing the new contact information for replacements.

"Comprehensive Care for All Needs"
My parents are at Meadowmere. My parents really like it. They say the food is good. I chose this place because they offer all levels of care. They have assisted living, nursing care, and memory care. My dad has Parkinson’s, which can lead to memory problems. My parents can stay here for the rest of their lives, and that was very important to me.

"Helpful Director and Impressive Facility with Great Tour and Info"
I met with the director yesterday, and she was very helpful. She gave me lots of information and a great tour. Mary also invited Mom and me to a luncheon or dinner. She was really nice and a pleasure to meet. She provided so much useful info that I’ll review this week. The facility is very impressive.

"Features Assisted Living & Nursing Home, But A Bit Pricey"
This place has a building for assisted living along with a nursing home. There's no worrying about end of life care because they have a nurse ready to help all day, every day. The rooms are tiny and only have basic furniture. I wasn't a fan of the main gathering area, which is just an open space near the entrance with a reception desk. I think the cost is a bit high for what the group home offers.
