"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short of Expectations"
They tell you it's great, but it's not. Once you're there, things aren't as good as they say. It's too expensive for what you get.

"Mixed Experience with Staff and Services"
The maintenance person is great, and some staff are really good. They always told me about any issues with my mom’s health. But some staff didn’t seem to care and should find other jobs. The office staff was hardly ever there, and the Director didn’t return calls. The response times to the call button were slow, maybe because there weren’t enough staff or they just didn’t want to help. It was hard to find a worker, especially during problems. Once, my mom was having a stroke, and my son-in-law couldn’t find anyone to help. He finally found a worker outside, but she took her time getting inside. The meals were often spicy and not very healthy. They usually served brats, hot dogs, or cold sandwiches with chips. My mom’s meals were almost always cold when delivered to her room, and some staff wouldn’t even microwave them. Cleaning was okay, but when the cleaner was out with COVID, my mom’s room wasn’t cleaned for weeks, except for the trash being taken out. The apartment cost was good for its size. I talked to some residents who were active and happy with the place.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The grounds and building needed help, but the staff was pleasant.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility; Seek Care Elsewhere!"
Take a close look at the specifics, such as the type of meals being served. Also, pay attention to how regularly they bathe your loved one - in our case, they didn't. The changing of bed linens just did not occur. The room cleaning service and laundry? Those are laughable. I suggest seeking better quality care elsewhere.

"Friendly staff and great tour lead to decision for mom"
The staff here are really friendly and welcoming. I was happy with the tour I took for my mom. They greeted us on time, showed us around the facility, and answered all our questions. I decided to move my mom to this community and look forward to our future here.

"Good option but too far away for us"
This place is a good choice, but it's a bit too far for us.

"Assisted Living Falls Short on Dementia Care and Communication"
This place isn't ready for folks with memory problems. The staff don't know how to handle tough situations well. Trash piles up for days in my loved one's space. The staff are nice, and Shiela is super helpful. But they should tell families about problems better. The activities are off for older folks. Who wants to play baseball in scorching heat? Their pharmacy is way pricier than our old one.

"Disappointing Experience at Racine Commons Assisted Living"
My aunt loves being around people and needs help managing her medications because of her memory problems. But at Racine Commons, there aren't many fun things to do with others. Some of the workers who are on duty late at night aren't very nice. Once, when my aunt asked for help going to the bathroom, one of the aides said they already helped her not too long ago and just left. There aren't any social events happening here, and my aunt doesn't get to spend time with other people who live here either.

A Place For Mom Customer
"Disappointed with Limited Customization at Assisted Living Facility"
I finished the tour. The apartment style and size were okay. But I felt disappointed because they only offered one package rate, not the customized rates I'm used to professionally. The base rate is $3,900, which is more than what I expected to pay for my low level of care needs—basically just medication setup, dining, and assistance with bathing and housekeeping.
