"Neglect and Poor Conditions at Berwyn Home"
My sister stayed at Berwyn Home for a year and experienced terrible treatment. We had to check on her several times a week to make sure she was safe. The staff always said she was "fine" and told us to lower our expectations. But she ended up in the hospital multiple times, spent 10 days in intensive care, and weeks in rehab because of their neglect. She suffered from dehydration, malnutrition, a UTI, over 30 pounds of fluid buildup, and bruises all over her body. Most employees showed no care or empathy. The whole place is rundown and dirty, with a messy yard. Some employees even smoked marijuana, coming to work smelling of it, and left joints in a coffee can on the back patio. They served unhealthy and unbalanced meals, like one supper with just five pieces of pepperoni and potato chips, and multiple lunches of corn dogs, potato chips, and jello/pudding.
