Sylvan Crossings at Creekside Estates

"Cozy Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Homemade Food"
I appreciate Sylvan Crossings and similar places because they don't require an endowment. It's a cozy, quiet suburb with a lovely green view from my husband's room. The staff is friendly, and the homemade food is a plus. So far, so good!

"Bad Smells, Lack of Professionalism and Poor Food Quality"
Totally let down! The place stunk and the workers smelled like cigarettes. I don't mind tattoos but the elderly folks here might. The boss doesn't seem to know much about nursing problems, and a registered nurse only visits 3 times a week. Plus, the food looked really awful.

"Great care and friendly, attentive staff"
stayed at Sylvan Crossings for just 4 months. We were very happy with her care. The best parts were the caregivers and the small number of residents.

"Not So Homey: Assisted Living Facility Falls Short"
They were really nice and caring, like a great care provider. But the place itself fell way short. It felt too much like a nursing home. The rooms were tiny—just enough space for a bed and a chair. And the worst part? Mom and Dad couldn’t even stay together in the same room (total deal breaker!). Plus, it smelled like disinfectant, and the hallways were narrow and cluttered with dirty laundry and cleaning carts. What they called ‘homey’ felt more rough around the edges. And don’t get me started on the limited transport services—only for group outings.

"Neglected Assisted Living Facility, Poor Conditions Despite Kind Staff"
The lady we spoke with at this assisted living place was really nice and she made us feel comfortable. She would make a great caregiver. However, the place itself didn't make the cut. It felt more like a plain old nursing home. The rooms were too tiny - only enough space for a bed and a chair. Also, my mom and dad wouldn't be able to share a room (which we can't have), so we would have to pay for two rooms, making it way too expensive. The place smelled like cleaning products, and the halls were packed full and not clean at all, with piles of dirty laundry and cleaning carts everywhere. They called the place homey on their website, but it felt more like it needed a makeover. They also didn't have enough transportation for everyone, only for times when the whole group was going somewhere.

"Not Ideal for Memory Care"
I visited this place on a tour. The dining area was nice and cheerful, but all I could smell was disinfectant. The rooms seemed okay and clean. The ratio of caregivers to residents didn't feel right. They also had a buzzer at the door that kept going off. While it had a nice view of the lake, it just wasn't the right fit for my dad. It didn't really focus on memory care, even though they were trying—they had a traveling memory care person come in.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility Tour"
I visited this place and the dining area was bright and cheerful. But all I could smell was cleaning stuff. The rooms looked okay, and it seemed clean overall. I felt like there weren't enough caregivers for the residents. They had a buzzer at the door that kept ringing. There was a nice view of the lake, but it didn't seem right for my dad. It wasn't really set up for memory care, even though they were trying with a memory care person who visits.

"Mediocre Assisted Living Facility with Informative Staff"
This place was alright, but not the best. It's a bit pricier and not as fancy as some others. The staff knew their stuff though!

"Limited Availability at Clean, Cozy Sylvan Crossing Retirement Home"
I visited Sylvan Crossing at Creekside Estates. It was a pretty neat and tidy place. It's not very big. They only had one room open, but we weren't prepared to move our family member yet.

"Gloomy, Dirty Facility with Foul Odor; Not Recommended"
This place was pretty gloomy and untidy. The rooms were incredibly small and not clean at all. An unpleasant smell was floating around the whole building. I really wouldn't tell anyone to go here.

"Costly Facility with Neglected Ambiance"
The living place costs a lot each month, which feels too much when you see the state of the building and the rooms where people stay. The outside area isn’t taken care of well. All of it seems old-fashioned and doesn’t make you feel happy. The folks living there appear to be left to do things by themselves; I didn’t notice any workers talking or spending time with them.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom gets good therapy here. They take care of her needs pretty well. She wishes there were more organized activities. They only have a few. Breakfast is good, but other meals could be better. I wouldn't recommend this place first, but it's worth considering.

"Some Concerns with Assisted Living Facility"
My mom gets good therapy here, and they're caring. But, there aren't many activities. Breakfast's good, other meals need work. Not top pick, but okay to consider.

"Mediocre Living Space, Good Therapy"
Boring location. The chef disposes your restroom waste. Employees appear pleasant and the physical therapy is exceptional.

"I'd like more outings and better communication"
I want more outings and better communication between doctors and the community. The staff is super nice and treats her well. No complaints.

"Convenient Location, Slightly Distant"
This place is close to the hospital in Cudahy. It's nice but it's about 12 miles from where my brother lives and where my mother used to live. That was a bit farther than we preferred. It's a bit older, but it still looked nice.

"This Seemed Nice"
This place near the Cudahy hospital is nice, but it’s about 12 miles away from where my brother and mother lived. That was a bit farther than we were comfortable with. Despite being a little older, it seemed nice.

"Small, Capable Facility with Immediate Availability"
Visited this place. It's not too big, so they should handle my dad's needs. They can help him get up. They take families, but you have to pay for 2 years (which he can) and get approved, like always. A friend has her dad here, and he's happy. There's a room open now, but it might go fast.
