"Great community with friendly staff and plenty of activities"
The staff and facilities are really nice and friendly. It feels like a great community for adults, with lots of open spaces, daily activities, and helpful, warm staff.

"Great activities and staff, but more outdoor time needed"
Mom really likes the activities and the activity director. She wishes she could go outside more often. Keeping track of her personal items is tough because of dementia. The staff is very kind and helpful.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The caregivers are friendly and helpful, but the place needs better housekeeping. Rooms aren't cleaned often, and evening meals could improve. Overall, it's a nice facility.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short: Staffing Woes and Inadequate Care"
In this scathing review, the assisted living facility faces serious challenges. They’re caught in a cycle of unfulfilled promises, understaffing, and subpar care. While a couple of dedicated staff members shine, overall, the situation leaves much to be desired. Residents deserve better.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility Fails Residents with Poor Care"
This place doesn’t keep their promises. They’re always short on staff, and they don’t care about the residents. The food is bad, and they don’t let us choose what we eat. The staff put us to bed too early, and they don’t have enough keys. Most of them don’t care, except for a couple of good workers. One of them is she’s really nice and works hard. But that’s about it.

"Broken Promises: Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
This place promised a lot but delivered little. When we visited, they made everything sound perfect, but it was all lies. They said they had fancy chefs, but the food was mostly rice and pasta, hardly any veggies or fruits. The staff they boasted about were nowhere to be found, and they were always short-staffed. Residents even had to clean their own rooms, including the bathrooms. Lots of other problems too, and they're always full.

"Good care but needs improvements in activities and supplies"
When we first admitted the resident, she didn’t get all her medications because the pharmacy didn’t have them. I should have been informed so I could get the right medicine myself. I did bring some Melatonin for her, and I think she’s getting that now. I was also disappointed that activities weren’t offered every day. You showed movies for a few days, but it would be nice to have popcorn too. I understand that you’re short on staff, but admitting another aggressive person scared many residents. When things like this happen, it would help if you gathered the residents to explain the situation and what you plan to do. Most of your staff are very good with the residents, and the food is great. However, I’m confused about why you ran out of milk, so I had to bring some myself. Is there an issue with making and offering coffee to the residents?

"Staffing Challenges at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is iffy. The staff turnover is a big issue. Every day, employees are glued to their cell phones instead of interacting with residents. The activity calendar seems more for show than anything else. Residents just sit in front of the TV for hours without any engagement. Sometimes an activity is planned, but if only a few people show interest, it doesn't happen. Employees have a huge workload due to budget cuts—they're responsible for cleaning, cooking, caregiving, recreation, and housekeeping. The caring girls work hard, but it's frustrating with so few staff per shift. The physician's comments on staffing problems are disheartening.

"Happy Residents and Great Care Noticed at All Hours"
Everything seems great so far. My family member just moved in, and I’ve visited at different times of the day. Everyone looks happy and well taken care of.

"Great Care and Responsive Staff!"
I've had my mom here for a few months, and our experience has been mostly positive. On move-in day, all the staff and aides greeted us, asked about Mom's preferences, and made her feel welcome. I visit a few times a week, and there are always nurses and staff around, taking care of the residents. Mom's room and bathroom are consistently clean, and she's always well-groomed (since she can't do it herself). I have a keyfob to get in, and there's usually someone at the door if I forget it—except for one time. Whenever I visit, Mom is either in the main living room with others or working on a puzzle. She seems happy, and we trust that she's well-cared for. Before choosing this facility, I checked out several others on my own, and the residents here looked well-cared for, which helped me decide. The administrators and head nurse promptly respond to my emails and calls, which matters to me. They even called me after Mom's first night here and emailed an update a couple of weeks later.

"Confident Mom Receives Good Care"
My mom has been here for a couple of months, and so far, we're happy with this home. I noticed some reviews complaining about a lack of staff presence, but that hasn't been our experience during visits. There's always an attendant at the front door. I have a key fob, so I don't need to be buzzed in, but there's consistently someone there. The door is secure, so we don't worry about my mom wandering off. We've seen workers cleaning, serving food, and interacting with residents. The rooms are small, but my mom prefers being in the main area with other residents. While the dining area could use a bit more vacuuming, overall, it seems clean enough. We'll post again in a few months, but for now, we're confident that Mom is well cared for.

"Very Nice Place"
I read the reviews after moving my dad here and got worried I made a mistake. But when I visited, there was someone at the front desk who checked me in, and attendants on the floor. I haven't seen anything negative. My dad seems really happy. He mostly sits and watches TV in the big living room with other people, but that's what he did at home too. Everyone, from the staff to the workers, has always been pleasant. So far, we're happy with the facility. It's very pretty, reasonably priced, and clean every time I visit.

"Incompetence and Negligence at Tender Reflection Assisted Living"
Tender Reflection seems more interested in profits over people. I see the owners replying to feedback, but their replies come across as insincere and phony. They claim to have a receptionist staffing the front desk round-the-clock. However, this was not the case at their Deforest branch, which was left unmanned for months. The facility, operational since August 2017, has already seen three facility heads leave and most of the original staff replaced. Residents outnumber staff members, yet they refuse to admit to being understaffed. They blame their staff instead, implying they can't handle their workload. Lastly, whom I've spoken to multiple times, was inebriated during our conversations.

"Don't Let Loved Ones Stay Here!"
My mom stayed here for a few months and that was way too long. They didn't take good care of her, and the staff was just plain rude. Whenever we came to visit, they wouldn't even say hi. The food was bad and really not suitable for older people. Other people living there kept going into her room without asking, so she had to keep her door locked. I'd tell anyone to avoid this place!

"Overcrowded Rooms, Indifferent Staff Mar Assisted Living Experience"
Never judge a book by its cover – magic words couldn't be truer for this seemingly magnificent assisted living facility. Behind the stunning facade hides an atmosphere that's anything but warm and welcoming. The staff couldn’t care less about us. You'd expect to be greeted upon arrival, but that didn't happen. There's always unsupervised residents roaming around confused. The activity director seems like someone who is fed up with her job, and the food here is nothing short of a joke – utterly unsuitable for elderly tastes. Despite having a multitude of vacant rooms, two people are jammed into tiny dorm-like spaces with zero privacy. My poor mom spent her days holed up in her room glued to the TV because there was nothing better to do, and with strangers allowed to freely enter her room. There is absolutely no competent supervision for dementia patients, it was like a ghost town whenever we passed by the nurse’s station. It's obvious that this place caters more to Alzheimer's and dementia patients than assisted living. Moreover, the place was only cleaned haphazardly, we had to scrub her commode ourselves. I highly advise you against sending a loved one here! Fortunately, we found a loving and accommodating new home for my 92-year-old mom, much to her delight. It's no shock that Tender Reflections is barely filled up, while others have people on waiting lists. It’s honestly heartbreaking! With the right people, this place has such potential. The final straw was when even the director failed to bid her farewell.

"Lack of care from staff overshadows facility's appearance"
When I like to check out a place, I usually come early and during meal time to see how the workers are. When I arrived here, the workers didn't seem to notice anything. They didn't care and totally ignored the people living there. I really didn't like the way they acted. I was let down and just left. I wouldn't think of placing anyone here. Even though this place is new and looks good, the workers ruined that. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Wife is happy and well cared for here"
This place is really, really nice. Everyone who visits says I couldn’t have found a better place for her. The staff is helpful and very nice. My wife seems to have adapted well. They try to get her involved in daily activities. The food is good; I think she’s eating better here than she did at home. The prices are reasonable, and they accept family care and Medicaid. It’s very clean, and they will do her laundry if she asks. I would recommend this place.

"Actively Supporting My Mom"
This place is really nice and welcoming. It's bright and open, with lots of different things for the residents to enjoy. Since my mom moved here, her care needs have changed due to a stroke. But the staff and management have been helpful, and she's also getting support from Hospice. Overall, I think this community is a good fit for my mom, and they're actively working to meet her needs.

"Unfit for Assisted Living: Smaller Than Needed"
When we visited this facility, I found it wasn't large enough for my dad's requirements. I didn't approve of the living conditions which seemed like a college dormitory where residents share both bathrooms and living areas. This facility seemed more suited for those living with dementia and Alzheimer's, rather than assisted living which is what my dad requires. Nevertheless, since this facility is relatively new, everything looked tidy and neat.

"Tour didn't meet expectations"
I toured this place for care, but it didn't meet my needs. They asked for a lot of information. It's a new place, but the environment didn't seem good. The rooms weren't what we liked. The staff seemed distant and weren't what I wanted for care. We suggest families tour the community before deciding.

"Tender Reflections is a Wonderful Place for Mom to Thrive!"
My mom moved into Tender Reflections over 2 weeks ago, and she’s thriving! She needs less care now than before. It’s really helped her both physically and mentally. The facility is beautiful with nicely furnished bedrooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mom says the food is 'fantastic.' We couldn’t be happier!

"Nice, clean community with good staff and happy residents"
Everything is really nice here, and the staff is great. My mom seems happier living here. I chose this place because it looks nice and is clean. I think a smaller community works better, and the atmosphere feels right. She hasn't joined the activities yet, but she enjoys watching. My mom finishes all her meals, so I think she likes the food.

"Fantastic Service and Fun Activities at Tender Reflections!"
My wife and I are really happy with our choice of Tender Reflections of Germantown. It’s been a great decision. They have been fantastic, along with everyone else I’ve met. The place is always clean and neat. On one visit, they were making sugar cookies, and on another, they were painting pumpkins, which I thought was amazing. I keep talking about how great this place is and the service from A Place for Mom.

"Concern Over Deceptive Marketing and Poor Care Quality"
This place puts its residents on show in their advertisements, pretending it's amazing with fun activities, but in reality, they're getting very poor care. The condition of the place, or lack of it, deeply worries us.
