"Comfortable independent living, but assisted area needs improvement"
My loved one lived here for a while and was very comfortable. She stayed in the independent living area, but when she needed more help, she chose a different community. She didn’t like that the assisted living section had shared bathrooms and very small rooms.

"We're Thrilled with The Gardens"
We're all really happy with The Gardens. Dad enjoys the food, and Mom usually likes it. They're having trouble with the phone service—lots of static and hard to hear—but they're working on fixing it. The staff has been great, and the place is very clean. We're quite pleased with them.

"Mixed Feelings about Expensive, Structured Assisted Living Facility"
It's a pretty nice place, with a room all set up and everything. I found out they serve three meals every day, but I don't always eat at those times. It turned out to be more pricey and organized than I really wanted or liked. Still, it's a really nice place overall.

"Affordable Independent Living"
The assisted living place has lots of activities. It's small, which makes it feel friendly. The location is great. The rooms are old (from the 1970s), but not terrible. They serve one meal, and we added lunch (which wasn't included). Meals cost more than expected. Be aware: you can't break the lease, even with a doctor's note. They want you to use their onsite assisted living, which is pricier than the independent part. They didn't tell us this upfront.

"The monthly fee includes all essentials!"
The monthly fee covers everything you need: utilities, staff available 24/7, three meals every day, help with medications, housekeeping, personal care assistance, daily activities, secure alarmed doors, and satellite TV. It's unclear whether dinner meals are provided on Saturdays and Sundays.

"Great choice for Mom's new home"
My mom, who's 88, moved from Michigan to Segoe Gardens because her old place wasn't working out. She used to live in her own house but had trouble taking care of it. Now, her new apartment is just the right size for her. Even though she has trouble seeing, the staff at The Gardens are super nice and make sure she feels comfortable and can do things on her own. She got lucky with an apartment close to the dining area and the garden, which she loves. And I'm happy she can hang out with other seniors and not feel lonely in Madison. Moving here has been a lot easier for her.
