"Great care and activities at this helpful assisted living facility"
My mom says she loves this place. Everyone is really kind and helps her with everything she needs. The food is great, and they even go out of their way to get her special foods because of her allergies. The medical staff is always helpful and answers all our questions. They also keep everyone busy with games, crafts, and trips.

"Great activities and care for Mom at The Waterford"
We moved my mom here 9 months ago because she was forgetting her medicine and living alone in Washington Heights, Hartford. At 94, she needed more help than we could give. Mom is very social and enjoys many activities. The Waterford offers daily activities for residents and family members who want to join. They have Bingo several times a week, card and board games on weekends, outings a few times a month, and summer cookouts with outside activities. Before she moved in, they updated her room with new carpet and flooring. They also added new flooring and lights on the lower floor. The residents and staff are great, and we all appreciate what they do for Mom.

"Tour Disorganized, Facility Feels Like Hospital, Shared Rooms Predominant"
The tour we scheduled didn't go smoothly. The boss didn't seem aware of our visit. They hurried through it, and the place seemed more like a hospital than a home for seniors. It looked really old, and most of the rooms were for sharing.

"Great experience, but staffing levels need improvement"
Overall, it's been a positive experience. The communication is solid, and the place has a friendly atmosphere. The facility is really nice. My only concern is that there might not be enough staff, though I know that’s a common issue these days.

"Staff understaffed, mixed experience with care and cleanliness."
My family member stays here now and it’s been okay. When we first moved her in, we spent a lot of time there. It was a pretty fast process getting her in, but there have been a few things that happened since she got there that haven’t been great. There have been some unexplained bruises and scars, and it’s always us having to ask how she got them, instead of them telling us right away. I get that there are a lot of other people there, but a lot of the time they seem to not have enough people working. There have only been a few times when I’ve gone where I don’t try to help, because it always seems like there are people that need it and aren’t getting it. I don’t know if they’re not paying enough or if there’s too much to do, but I’ve heard some of the workers say they don’t really care about being there. I think they might be a little overwhelmed, but the people in charge are really good. Sometimes it feels like you can’t ask the workers for help because of how much they complain. One good thing I can say is that they have good food and they keep it clean. There are a few workers that do a great job, too, but most of them don’t seem happy. Overall, it hasn’t been terrible, but it hasn’t been great.

"Assisted Living Place Does a Good Job!"
They don't have a lot of stuff to do here. The people who work here are nice and they take good care of my father-in-law. They always tell us how he's doing and if anything changes. I haven't tasted the food myself, but he seems to enjoy it. They make sure the place is clean and looks nice.

"Grateful Family, Great Care!"
As an occupational therapist, I've helped many people understand the importance of assisted living. My aunt had needed it for years but couldn’t bring herself to leave her home. When we visited The Waterford, we were impressed with the size of the building, the grounds, and the staff. It was a difficult move, and my aunt struggled to accept and adjust. The entire staff—from housekeeping to nursing to the kitchen—was so kind, caring, and attentive. They did everything they could to make her feel comfortable and even loved her cat, "Kitty." Our family feels so blessed that she’s there. For the first time in years, my mom looks rested because we know my aunt is in good hands.

"First Take: Neglected and Hastily Run Elderly Care Home"
My first vibe was it's neglected and badly organized! Out of the many elder care homes I visited every day for a week....this was the first one that hurried me out from both the general care and memory care units. The higher-ups seemed stressed and were quick to send me off. The lights were gloomy, dim, and the place had a bad odor.
