"Steer Clear! Unsafe Apartment, Not Assisted Living"
This place was meant to be a Senior Living community but now it's just a regular apartment building. There's no fun stuff to do or care services provided. The building isn't clean or fixed up. People living here aren't just seniors anymore; some even have really young kids and there have been problems with drugs. Some guy bought the place a year or two back and made it a cheap housing spot, which leaves the elder folks having to look elsewhere to live. Folks who have been here a while are having to leave because the building is in bad shape, there's no services they promised online, the type of people living here aren't the best, and there's no safety at all. I dropped by today and didn't even have to ring a buzzer to get in, I just walked right in, NO SAFETY! Got to find a new place for my mom!

"Best Value Assisted Living with Great Amenities and Friendly Staff"
I've lived at Luther Haven for 6 years. Before retiring, I was a nursing consultant and visited many senior living facilities. Luther Haven is the best value I found. When I first walked in, I was welcomed by friendly staff and a cozy Commons area, and I knew this was the place for me. The amenities are incredible. There's a coffee bar with coffee for 25 cents, a beer bar with 24-hour beer on tap for 50 cents, a huge video library, a large book collection, a small store with everyday items, and beautiful fireplaces in both Commons areas. The lower Commons is big enough for large events, like weddings and parties. I've even had an Academy Award party here, and the food service took care of everything for a reasonable fee. You can do your own laundry or have the staff do it for a small fee. They even fold and put it away. The maintenance staff is available to help with various tasks, like putting together furniture. A seamstress visits weekly for mending and dry cleaning, which costs just $2.50 for most items. A doctor has office hours here once a week, and I love him. There’s also an audiologist, a podiatrist, a toenail care clinic, and simple manicures available. The beauty shop offers great services at lower prices. The two-story Christmas tree by the fireplace is beautiful, and there’s a baby grand piano in the Commons area for anyone to play. We often have sing-alongs or listen to the activity director play. There are exercise classes every morning, including yoga, zumba, line dancing, tai chi, and water aerobics. The activity director is an art therapist with a Master’s in counseling. We have a book club, poetry club, Bible study, and more. The local church broadcasts its services in our chapel. I use my mobility scooter to visit nearby stores like Target and Dollar Store. Despite some people’s opinions, this area is actually very safe. I've followed police reports for 6 years, and it’s one of the safest areas in the city. There’s good security, and the area is improving with more businesses coming in. The only thing missing is a great pizza delivery place. I love living here. The motto "where friends become family" is truly accurate. I highly recommend Luther Haven.
