"Tour Experience at Brookdale Charleston Gardens: A Fine Choice"
Our visit to Brookdale Charleston Gardens went well. It was comparable to our chosen place; our decision was based on personal preference.

"Lacking Care for Loved One; Would Not Recommend"
My wife got sick two months in a row, and I felt like she wasn't being looked after properly. She needed more care than they could give her here. Because of our experience, I wouldn't suggest it to others.

"Brookdale Charleston Gardens: Neglect, Poor Care, and Life Threatening"
My mom-in-law had a fall at their memory care place. They tucked her into bed and left her hurting with a broken hip for almost a full day before calling for help. Her life ended because she didn't get care after that fall. They hardly ever give baths. They don't brush the residents' hair or teeth. They let the residents sit in wet underclothes. They hardly provide any activities for memory care residents. The doctor is terrible. She ups the medications without telling guardians, which is illegal. Some staff told me they leave residents in wheelchairs all night so they don't have to move them. Selecting Brookdale Charleston Gardens might shorten your family member’s life.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The place was clean, but staff weren't friendly. The aides were good, but management lacked communication about care levels. I suggest looking elsewhere; wouldn't recommend. My mom stayed for three months, which felt too long due to staff attitude. They need honesty and kindness training. Also, watch out for hidden charges for residents.

"Nursing Home Nightmares: Bugs, Rude Staff, and Drug Abuse Abound"
This place is really terrible. I found out the nurses are abusing drugs and they're even stealing medication from residents. My own parent caught head lice and recently, they also had to deal with a bed bug infestation. Plus, the owner's son is unbelievably difficult to communicate with. Sadly, the director doesn't even seem to be aware of what's happening with the staff. There's simply no positivity anywhere in the building. On top of all this, the employees are outright rude, and they just try to hide these issues. Please, don't put your loved one in this place if you genuinely care about their health and wellbeing.

"Brookdale Charleston Gardens Review"
Overall, I like Brookdale Charleston Gardens, but sometimes they're slow to finish things. For instance, they forgot to send my mom's bills to her lawyer, and I had to remind them. When she first moved in, she did activities, but after her hospital stay, she's slowly getting better and can be stubborn about joining in. She eats in the dining room when she feels well, and likes the food. The staff are very friendly and keep me informed about my mom, answering my questions and calling me. Brookdale also provides transportation and once a month takes residents out for lunch. My advisor from A Place for Mom was excellent, helping me find a place for my mom and reassuring me throughout. I would recommend Brookdale Charleston Gardens to others.

"Mom Is Thriving at Brookdale Charleston Gardens"
I like Brookdale Charleston Gardens overall, but sometimes they’re a bit slow with tasks. My mom’s bills should go to her lawyer, but I’ve had to remind them. Since her hospital stay, she’s gradually getting back into activities. The staff is friendly and keeps me informed. They even offer transportation for residents. My advisor from A Place for Mom was great during the whole process. I’d recommend Brookdale Charleston Gardens to others.

"New Care Facility: Early Impressions and Adjustment Challenges"
It's still a bit soon to confidently rate this facility. To this point, the staff and administration have been pleasant and supportive. We've had some wrinkles getting mom's medication transferred, but the team is working with us to resolve this issue. It naturally takes time for the elderly to acclimate and form relationships with the staff, but the staff really seems to be making solid efforts to help them and to get to know my mother. Overall, it's been a positive experience up until now, even considering some minor frustrations that are expected when adjusting to such drastic changes. If it was more affordable, I'd definitely opt for a private apartment for mom over the shared suite.

"Assisted Living: Helpful but Forgetful with Medications"
The people here are really nice and always ready to help. But sometimes they forget to tell us when our medicines are running out. Also, they order medicines that we don't need. Other than that, they've been great.
