"Decline in Quality Care at Wyngate Respite Care"
My dad, who is 89, stayed at Wyngate respite care for less than a week. During that time, he fell twice because staff didn't monitor him well. Even when I asked for a bed alarm for his safety, no one came when it went off. On his arrival, they didn't evaluate his abilities or limitations which caused more issues. Not realizing his disabilities, they pushed him to do things such as showering, getting out of bed, and going to the dining room for meals - all things he is no longer able to do. Furthermore, the facility was often not kept clean. There were used gloves left on the sink and countertops, clean-up didn't seem to be priority. His wet linens were sent back to his room and even his blanket had unwanted stains on it. Years back, my grandmother received top-notch care here. Sadly, there's been a significant drop in the quality since then.

I was referred to this place by Taking Care of Mom. I reached out to the Resident Manager, and she immediately helped me get my 91-year-old dad the care and support he needed to be happy here.
